Lela Allen

Quality Assurance Reviewer

At the Center for Child and Family Studies, Lela Allen conducts Quality Assurance Reviews to include: Child and Family Services Review, Family Preservation, Foster Care, and Community-Based Prevention Services for the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Lela earned dual Bachelor Degrees, Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Sociology, from Colorado State University. In addition, Lela obtained a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Lela has vast knowledge in child welfare service provision; a portion of that professional experience was in Colorado. Because of her passion for children’s rights, Lela worked as a program manager/coordinator with CASA of Mesa County (Grand Junction, Co), Richland County CASA, and the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem program in Greenwood, Abbeville, and Charleston County. Lela is also certified as a Strengthening Families Program Facilitator and provided strong leadership for this evidence-based program across three counties.
