Nayshondra Mercer, BA, MA

Child Welfare Trainer


Nayshondra Mercer is a child welfare trainer at the Center for Child and Family Studies. She uses her practical experiences from the field to encourage child welfare professionals to think critically and promote collaboration while serving families and children throughout the state.

Nayshondra has three years of child welfare experience. Her prior employment includes time serving emotionally disturbed children as a service coordinator with the South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Intensive Foster Care and Clinical Services program. Nayshondra has traveled in and out of the state aiding foster parents working with youth in foster care who have mental health diagnoses and behavioral challenges.

Nayshondra holds a Master of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy from American Military University in Charles Towne, West Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and African American Studies from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Nayshondra believes that children require advocates to grow them into becoming the world's future leaders.
