Debra R. Beecken, BSW

Program Coordinator II

As a Quality Assurance Reviewer, Debra completes reviews of Child and Family Services cases, from the SC Department of Social Services. The reviews assess the quality of services and assessments provided to children and families to ensure the children’s safety, permanency, and well-being.

Debra has served over twenty years in child welfare, specializing in Special Needs Adoptions for seventeen years.  She received a BSW from Columbia College in 1993 and has served as a trainer for the SC Foster Parent Association for over ten years and for Children Unlimited for over seventeen years.  In addition, she has provided care for children as a therapeutic foster parent for seven years.

As a Quality Assurance Reviewer, Debra’s goal is to make a difference in the provision of providing safety, permanency, and well-being for children and their families that have been identified as vulnerable and needing assistance from Social Services.  She believes that the Quality Assurance teams at CCFS are in a unique position to help SCDSS improve practice and strengthen the services that are needed to ensure children are protected and families are strengthened.
