Mercedes Caldwell

Quality Assurance Reviewer

As a Quality Assurance Reviewer, Mercedes Caldwell performs as a key member of the quality and professional development team that reviews South Carolina Department of Social Services’ child welfare cases to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and improve the quality of services provided to children and families throughout the state.

Prior to coming to the Center for Child and Family Services, she served as a Program Consultant for the Child and Adult Care Food Program in Richland County Department of Social Services. Before relocating to South Carolina in 2015, she worked as a Permanency Caseworker for Erie County Department of Social Services.  She has also served as an Ongoing Service Coordinator in a nonprofit organization as well as a Center Director for Head Start/Early Head Start programs.

Mercedes says that her goal is to “improve the quality of life for at-risk children.”
