Child and Adolescent Development was developed for child welfare workers to enhance their understanding of normal child and adolescent development. The curriculum trains caseworkers to better detect when young clients may not be developing normally and work with such children toward their best possible development. Workers are encouraged to use the curriculum’s Resource Book for quick reference in their work. The curriculum sequence contains two days on normal child development (prenatal through 10) and one day on normal adolescent development (11 into young adulthood).
