Susan Stroman

Training and Development Director

Susan’s role as an Adult Protective Services Trainer here at CCFS is to train all DSS employees in need of Adult Protective Services certification.  As a co-trainer, she and her partner work together to update itineraries to reflect current training topics, review all pre-work completed by the participants, prepare any handouts to be used and coordinate with their training assistant to ensure all course materials are current and ready as needed. She also creates targeted study guides for participants to address gaps in learner knowledge. She is also looking forward to creating new, engaging approaches to training to create a positive training experience for learners.

Susan is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.  Her experience in working with vulnerable adults includes working in an assisted living facility for over ten years, working as an Adult Protective Services Case Manager for five years, and working as a Long Term Care Ombudsman for two years.
Susan chose to become and remain an advocate for vulnerable adults in order to ensure that they have the best quality of life possible and that they are free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
