Ralph Matthews, MA

Curriculum Developer and Writer

As a member of the Curriculum and Information Design team, Ralph writes, revises, and coordinates the development of curricula and other training materials for employees at the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Ralph earned his BA and MA in English at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. After receiving his MA, he worked as an adjunct English instructor in the First-Year English program at the University, teaching critical reading, writing, and rhetoric.

Ralph sees his mission in both the challenges and rewards of working at the Center. The challenges offer new learning experiences that help him grow as a professional. But the rewards are what make the job especially mission-worthy. The most significant reward is knowing that what the Center does truly makes a difference in the lives of children and families in South Carolina.
