Brittany Brewer, BA, MSW

Quality Assurance Reviewer

Brittany joined the Center for Child and Family Studies in July 2015 where she has been serving as a Quality Assurance (QA) Reviewer since her hire.  On the QA team, Brittany serves with fellow staff to review all DSS counties in the state of South Carolina in one calendar year.  During reviews, the teams review for federal policies being followed by all DSS counties along with the accurate and timely services they provide the children and families they serve.

Brittany began employment with ResCare through a grant with the South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS).  ResCare provides job readiness training through the JUMMP program (Jobs Upfront Mean More Pay) to all South Carolina applicants of Family Independence (FI).  Brittany was a Quality & Assurance Specialist and audited all of South Carolina’s Region II eight JUMMP offices (servicing 14 counties).

Brittany left ResCare in February 2014 and joined the University of South Carolina staff at the Institute for Families in Society (IFS).  IFS works collaboratively with state agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Health and Environmental Control, among others.  While with IFS, she assisted the research faculty to support evaluation activities associated with specific program initiatives.

Brittany believes that the role of leaders is not to get other people to follow them, but to empower others to lead.
